Kumaon is less easily accessed eastern part of Uttarakhand, a state of India.


District under the Kumaon region are: Almora,Bageshwar,Champawat,Nainital,Pithoragarh and Udhamsingh Nagar


Major cities in the Kumaon region are Haldwani, Ramnagar, Nainital, Almora, Ranikhet and Pithoragarh

Other destinations

Other destination in the region of Kumaon can be Bhimtal,Sattal which are the lakes in Nainital district. Kausani in Almora can be accessed for the scenic view of the mighty Himalayas. Chaukori and Berinag in Pithoragarh also provide majestic view of Panchachuli peaks of the Himalayas.

Haldwani in Nainital district is the gateway of Kumaon,which is about 290 kms from Delhi. Daily bus services of Uttarakhand roadways & Uttar Pradesh roadways are available from ISBT Anand Vihar. Kathgodam is the terminal railway station of kumaon which is well connected to the cities of Delhi, Dehradoon, Howrah & Jammu. Lalkuan is another nearby railway station. From Haldwani every part of kumaon is easily accessible by bus and taxis.
