By the way the traffic light system is somewhat basic. It's as if someone gave a low achieving elimentary school student homework to design a traffic light network for a major city and never checked his work. W.I.P.

The amount of scooters is incredible they are like swarms gathering at each red light thoughout every part of the day and city and then bursting when the light goes green. It can be quite frightening to be caught in the middle. At every traffic light there is a digital countdown for when the lights will change you will come to find this useful. If you are unaware of this empowering, life or death information and stroll out across the road thinking how lucky you are that all the traffic has stopped as you wish to cross the road, some go one side, more the other. some anticipating you to keep walking, some expect you to stay still. Then once they have dispersed in their chosen directions at the minimum required given mercy to the road crosser and you have leaped adrenaline fuelled and quivering to the pavement you catch a glimpse of the digital countdown 1... 0... /your heart shudders, and then calm as you remember you are tucked up on the pavement and all is well. 60 engines start and rev as the next squadron launches from the other side of the xroads, a sight to behold and after just enough time to begin to marvel some of them peel off and mount the pavement next to you to look for a parking space. Then again the same questions spring to mind, should I stay still?, should I move?... Where is safe??  like with sharks stay still, they really are all very considerate and their machines are highly manouvreble. The easiest thing to avoid is a stationary object. Just check their eyes, check they are looking at you and i not, scream!

211.72.233.9 05:17, 30 November 2007 Zuoying Zuoying prenounced, well i wouldn't have a clue right now. when i first saw the spelling and heard the prenounciation i thought that it was ridiculous but now i try to make it clear I think they've done a pretty good job.

I was looking on the internet for information on Zuoying but I found the page is not written so I have found myself writing about it now. Which makes it feel a little remote. Well yes I am there now, I have been here for just one week so far visiting a close friend. I have a further 3 weeks here so this page will be like a journal for me and arguably, a travel guide for the reader.

I do classify it as an attraction; the sheer quantity of scooters, flicking in and out between cars. That is untill you wish to sit outside starbucks with a coffee and read your book. They soon become more of a headache and you start to praise the Taiwanese government for building a subway (opens in 2008).

By the way the traffic light system is somewhat basic. It's as if someone gave a low achieving elimentary school student homework to design a traffic light network for a major city and never checked his work. W.I.P.

How the most committed eco warrior will come to find Starbucks and Mcdonalds to be a close friend. W.I.P.
