Kanata is an area of Ottawa. It was its own city until 2001, when it was algramated with Ottawa. There are many high-tech buisnesses that of head-quarters in Kanata, such as Corel. Kanata is also the newest area of Ottawa, and is consantly expanding. It is a mainly suburban area with a population of about 90 000.

The Highway 417 goes right through Kanata and connects it to the rest of Ottawa.

The OC Transpo runs in Kanata.

Kanata is a very beautiful area. Kanata is very green with tons trees, and is also the most hi-tech and new area of Ottawa.

The Scotiabank Place (The home of the Ottawa Senators hockey team.) is in Kanata, So hockey fans could go to some games here. There are also many bike paths if you want to go walking, biking, or jogging.

There are some shopping areas of Kanata, such as the Bayshore mall and the Centrum.
