Hatra is an archaeological and UNESCO world heritage site in the Al Jazira region of Iraq.

Hatra is an ancient city, founded by Arab tribes in the 3rd century BCE. It later became a part of the Parthian Empire, in which it flourished as a centre of trade and religion.

The city is 290km north-west of Baghdad, and 110km south-west of Mosul.
