Guayará-Mirim is in the north-eastern part of Bolivia. It is separated from Brazil by the Mamoré River.

Guayará-Mirim has a small airport serviced by TAM (Transporte Aereo Militar) and Aerocon.

Small boats take you on the five minute trip across the river into the Brazilian border town of Guajará-Mirim.
