These caves are a lasting reminder of Valerio Ricetti who between the two Wars made his home on the then isolated hillside. As well as creating a variety of living areas and a chapel, Valerio built a series of terraces and other areas to grow his crops. Before proceeding to the caves obtain a copy of the Hermit's story from the Visitor Information Centre. It will help to bring the story of Valerio Ricetti to life.

Located at Pioneer Park, the new Museum provides an extension to one of the Parks existing priorities of collecting material which reflects the heritage of the Griffith region.

Discussion of the concept commenced in early 1994. As planning has progressed, funding the construction of the Museum building has been gained from donations by local organisations and individuals. The building itself was designed by architect Steve Murray.
Griffith Regional Art Gallery
The Gallery is centrally located in the main shopping area of Griffith. It occupies the eastern wing of the War Memorial Hall, a significant Art Deco building which was designed by local architect, A D Long, and completed in 1939. Subsequent renovations were carried out by Geoff Larkin of the Government Architect's Branch of the NSW Public Works Department and in September 1983, the new art gallery, consisting of Gallery A and Gallery B, opened to the general public. Although small, both have a sense of space due to the four metre high ceilings and the natural timber floors. A municipal park provides recreational facilities on the eastern boundary of the site. Both display and storage areas are situated on ground level and the whole Gallery is available for temporary exhibitions.
