From Sydney, 386 km via the Great Western Highway through Bathurst then the Mitchell Highway to Orange (119 km from Forbes) then the Escort Way and Forbes Eugowra roads. or The Great Western Highway through Bathurst then the Mid Western Highway through Blayney to Cowra and the Lachlan Valley Way to Forbes. From Forbes you can travel the Newell Highway to Parkes 30 km and onto Dubbo - 152 km It is 1029 km north to Brisbane and 685 km south to Melbourne on the Newell Hwy.

Canberra is 276 km south.
