Walking on the mountain is one-way on very narrow, steep routes with stairs carved into the rock and handrails. If it is busy (Mid-autumn Festival), expect the pace to be about 10 steps/minute painfully slow and can be claustrophobic with no way to turn around. Be sure to bring a jacket as you may be up there longer than you think. The views are beautiful and if you're prepared to have a leisurely stroll, you'll enjoy it more.
Typical Chinese tourist trinkets. Might find some interesting old comics, red book, walnuts for healthy hand spinning.
Main-gate food vendors selling energy rich hiking snacks.
Bee máshu (麻糬) otherwise known as mochi made with bees watching. Not sure why the bees are there but looks great.
Water and other refreshments at way-points on the mountain sell at a premium. Bring a few extra RMB and save the weight.
Buses back to Dandong (LD bus terminal across from train station) end early (around 6pm?). 16RMB to head back on these buses. Look for them across the street from the parking lot. Probably yelling "Dandong, Dandong, Dandonguehhhhhh!"
If back down the mountain a little late, look for taxis. 40-50RMB/person depending on the driver. 160-200RMB/car.
