Get around

Many of the locals in Drymen are qualified balloon pilots as getting around the village by foot can be tricky. Most of these pilots tend to congregrate in the Clachan so the best advice is to go in their and ask. Be persistent though as many of them will pretend not to know what you are talking about.

Drymen is distinct for having an unusually large proportion of very dry men. This is a particularly popular tourist attraction, and is well worth a look.

The Clachan Inn is reputed to be the oldest in Scotland, nice food and good atmosphere.

The Winnock Hotel is a three-star hotel, reputed to be the most haunted in Scotland! Originally used as an inn, it has great character, if somewhat basic facilities. Creaking floorboards and mismatched furniture add to its charm. Food is somewhat hit and miss, as is the service.
