The enclave of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is a tiny union territory in Western India wedged between the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The two regions - Dadra and Nagar Haveli are separated from each other by a few kilometers. Both lie on the West coast, at the mouth of the Daman Ganga river.
This enclave is one of the areas "liberated" from the Portuguese by Indian forces in 1954.
By road, Dadra and Nagar Haveli , almost touches the Bombay - Baroda - Delhi National Highway No.8 (Western Express Highway). Silvassa is about 14 kms, from Bhilad and Vapi.
The nearest railway station is Vapi via Western Railways, which is about 18 kms from Silvassa.
Bombay is the nearest airport.
