Connellsville is a city in Fayette County, and a gateway via 711 to the Laurel Highlands recreational areas of Ohiopyle and Seven Springs Ski Resort and Conferenece Center. UnderstandConnellsville is a very redneck town with a thriving drug trade, especially at the Mile Marker Bar on Crawford Avenue. You can often find in the bathroom the utensils needed to cook cocaine into crack rocks up on the shelf near the TV. Get inThere are no hotels in Connellsville, though there is a Motel jsut on the outskirts of town, the Melody Motor Lodge, which is about what it sounds like, a quintessential motor lodge from back when they were called that, with the remote chained to a desk, and the upholstry dating back from the early 70s (maybe?) Get aroundRoute 119 is the Main North/South artery connecting Connellsville to the North to the Westmoreland County communities of Scottdale and Mt. Pleasant. SeeIt is mostly just a town where everyone works hard in a mill job or fracking natural gas and then parties on the nights and especially weekends. DJs rotate between the various bars with differing degrees of sucess DoYou can go to Yough Park and feed the ducks. BuyThere is a supermarket anchoring a couple of differnet plazas, from the Wal-Mart one, whcih is technically out of town a few minutes in neighboring Dunbar Township, EatThere is the Italian Oven, Double Dragon Chinese Restaraunt, The Great Wall Chinese Restarant, which has better food and service, though some claim that the General tso's is better at the Double Dragon, and an Italian Place near the Martin's Supermarket. DrinkRumor's Bar used to be a coke bar, but no one really hangs out there now because the dealers left, mostly back to the Mile Marker. There are several private clubs as well.
