The Cape Peninsula [1] is the world-famous peninsula near Cape Town, at which the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point are located. It is however not the most-southern tip of Africa (that would be the Cape Agulhas).

Visit some of the harbours at the east and west side. Kalk Bay is good for fresh fish, while the speciality of Hout Bay on the westside are fresh lobsters and boat trips to Seal Island.

Several cafes and restaurants line the beach in Simonstown and the other villages of the Cape Peninsula.

Sleep

You can not stay overnight in the Cape Peninsula National Park. You can however stay in one of the many small towns and suburbs in the north of the Peninsula. Everything ranging from budget to luxury accommodation can be found there.

Get out

Go to Cape Town, visit the Cape Winelands, drive up to the north along the West Coast or to the east onto the Garden Route.
