Bugnara is a small town in the Abruzzo region.

Get in

There are a few buses and trains every day, trains run from Sulmona and the bus stops on the way from Rome to Scanno. Coming from Sulmona there are about seven buses a day.

Get around

Bugnara is small enough to walk around.


  • The derelict castle
  • Small lanes and alleyways
Small streets and alleyways


Walk about, have a coffee in the Piazza.


Market stalls in the Piazza, wait for the vegetable, meat and fish trucks.


  • The very humble La Falena restaurant is open in the summer.
  • Pizzeria by the town hall


  • Have a coffee or a beer at the bar on the Piazza.


Plenty of B&Bs and private houses for rent.

Get out

  • Bike ride to Sulmona or walk up into the hills.
