Bridgeport is a city in Mono County in the Eastern Sierra region of California.
Highway 395 passes directly through Bridgeport as its main street.
Bryant Field Airport (ICAO: O57) for general aviation is located just north of town. Be aware of density altitudes, especially in the summer.
Visit the Forest Service Office for visitor information. Located on Hy. 395 south of town 1/2 mile. We have good maps and suggestions for day trips and good hikes.
- Near Bridgeport are several hot springs, including Buckeye a few miles west of town, and Travertine about a mile south. You can call 760-932-7070 for information, wilderness permits, and wood cutting permits. We do have areas that are open all year for wood cutting. This is a nice place to visit for fishing, hiking, backpacking, ATV riding and camping.

- There is a nice national forest campground at Buckeye a few miles west of town. The Forest Service campgrounds are in the process of getting a new water system installed. The reservation process can be done by www.reserveUSA.com. Reservations are not being taken until the construction project is done. Craigs campground is the only one open now (April 2009) The others in the Twin Lakes area will open May 15th. Along 395 near the Walker River we have two campgrounds (Chris Flat and Bootleg)opening on May 8th. Buckeye campgroung, near the hot spring will open on May 8th. - Bodie -- State Historic Park, an unpreserved "ghost town" once famous for mining; the "Deadwood" of the Eastern Sierra. Located between Bridgeport and Mono Lake off 395.
