Belgorod (Белгород) is a city and the administrative center of Belgorod Oblast, located on the right bank of the Northern Donets River. Belgorod is a industrial, Soviet-style town, known for limestone production. The city is one of the fastest growing in Russia, its population is 356,402.
Belgorod airport (EGO)  is located not far from the city centre. You can reach the airport by car, taxi or public transportation (bus line 7). Several airlines (i.e. Rusline) operates daily flights between Belgorod and Moscow (Vnukovo & Domodedovo), Saint-Petersburg and other Russian cities (Nizhny Novgorod, Norilsk, Novy Urengoy). Coming from Europe you can also use Kharkiv airport in Ukraine, which is located ca. 80 km from Belgorod in Eastern Ukraine. This airport serves destinations to Warsaw, Vienna, Berlin or Istanbul.
