Not so much for going out here. It s more to calm down from Bocas del Toro experiences. Also, Old Bank has a different vibe than gringofied Bocas town - more real but not always in a nice way. Poverty is much more apparent, and after dark the settlement can feel a bit intimidating at times.

there are some bars. mainly locals, you wont find many tourists. the locals are chill and ive never had a problem. at the end of town they have basketball courts and theres a bar on site. a cool place for locals and foreigners to chill. bastimentos is about peace, beauty, and quiet. a great place to stay...go into bocas to party. you can get a taxi back to bastimentos anytime.

For people who like it a bit more quiet walk until the left end of the town (if you are looking to the water) and follow a little path for 50 meters after the asphalted peer ends. For a totally unique experience, try La Loma Jungle Lodge and Chocolate Farm. It's located in a quiet bay midway down the island and has 4 'handmade' cabins perched on the hillside. The food is incredible with many products grown in the organic gardens. Unsurprisingly, chocolate features prominantly.

Old Bank, the only settlement on Bastimentos

Bastimentos is an island in Bocas del Toro province in the Caribbean West of Panama.

For everyone who feels a bit overwhelmed by the party scene in Bocas town this is the place to go. In Bastimentos you are going to find the relaxing atmosphere the loud taxis and bars on the main island can't offer.
