From Portland (Maine): take US Interstate I-295 North (toward Falmouth (Maine), which becomes I-95 around Gardiner (Maine); follow signs for Augusta. Exit onto Western Ave (right) into Augusta; trip is between 50 and 60 miles, about one hour total in reasonable traffic. From Belfast (Maine): Take Maine State Route 3 South (really west/southwest); trip is about 45 miles, or about one hour in reasonable traffic.
