  • The picturesque colonial church The church was built to impress and impress it did - and does. it is sometimes called the Sistine Chapel of the Andes because of the extent and quality of its frescoes. Almost as impressive is the quantity of precious metals used on the altar and elsewhere. (Photography is not permitted in the church.)
