Abusir

Abusir (also spelt Abu Sir) is an Egyptian archaeological locality (and a village) some 10 km to the south of Cairo and therefore 35 km south of the Egyptian capital Cairo. The desert plateau of Abusir is home to a compact pyramid field, with pyramids and funerary temples dating mainly from the 5th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom.
