Less than 30 minutes from North America's oldest French-speaking city lies Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier. It features a remarkable landscape characterized by contrasts: mountainous uplands fractured by steep-sided valleys. The Jacques-Cartier River Valley presents a spectacular 550-metre-deep trench through which a multi-faceted river winds. In the park's dense forest, where yellow birch, sugar maples and black spruce co-mingle, nature inspires peace and respect. In the winter, the magic of this site will leave you speechless.
Tourist Region: Charlevoix
At the beginning of the 20th century, the area was already renowned for its amazing fishing sectors. Impressed by the carpet of lichen and the northern vegetation, which is unusual at this latitude, people who visited the area at the time christened it Grands-Jardins. Today, this sample of the Great Québec North is still a favourite of fishing enthusiasts, as well as hikers, campers and vacationers who appreciate the magical setting of this exceptional national park. It has the privilege of being one of the central areas of the Charlevoix World Biosphere Reserve, a status awarded to the region by UNESCO. The Parc national des Grands-Jardins is accessible through the village of Saint-Urbain.

Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaieis one of Québec's most beautiful natural monuments. It was named after a series of valleys cut deep into a range of high mountains. Steep slopes, beautiful natural surroundings, and the unusual course of Rivière Malbaie make this an exceptional site. Come and take a voyage into the heart of the Pays de Menaud, where time stops but the spectacle goes on and on.
