[edit] Riggwelter
Nominated for: Bureaucrat
New election
Self-nominated Riggwelter 16:17, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
Motive: I have noticed that there may be a need for more than one bureaucrat on Shared, for example as new and old admins on the different languange versions come and leave on this part of Wikitravel. I have upheld the post as bureaucrat on Wikitravel in swedish for little over a year and I think I have what it takes.
Acceptance:

- Support – While the responsibilities here are pretty minimal, it would be nice to have someone monitor the adminship of each language version, and keep Shared up to date as far as those priveleges go, as our current policy states that admins on other versions should be admins here too. And Riggwelter has been one of the more active members on Shared, and put a lot of effort into it. – cacahuate talk 13:44, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
- Support – I think that admins and bureaucrats of each language version should have the same power on shared:, and they should pay same attention to here. -- Tatata 12:18, 20 July 2007 (EDT)
- Support. I'd be happy to get the help. --Evan 11:47, 22 July 2007 (EDT)
- Support – With all the focus on the language versions, shared does seem to be slightly neglected at times; It will be good having another bureaucrat here. --NJR ZA 14:37, 22 July 2007 (EDT)
- Support. Shared stands to benefit from the extra attention and I'm confident that Riggwelter is more than up to the task. --Peter 01:25, 26 July 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Hebrew
[edit] Zvika
The most active of the admins on He – cacahuate talk 23:22, 10 October 2008 (EDT)
- Nomination withdrawn - User doesn't seem to be active, and has not accepted the nomination – cacahuate talk 15:39, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
- Sorry for not responding earlier. There seems to have been a problem with the recent changes RSS feed which is why I didn't get this earlier. Because there is very little activity in the Hebrew Wikitravel, I only go there when I see something interesting happening through RSS. In any case, I don't really believe there is a need for me to be a bureaucrat there, since the site is really almost entirely inactive. --Zvika 15:22, 5 November 2008 (EST)
Outcome: not promoted, user not interested – cacahuate talk 19:00, 27 November 2008 (EST)
[edit] Hungarian
There doesn't seem to be any active admins there right now, though Dorgan is the likely candidate if he comes back around – cacahuate talk 23:22, 10 October 2008 (EDT)
Outcome: No promotions – cacahuate talk 19:00, 27 November 2008 (EST)
[edit] Polish
[edit] Drozdp
The only active admin – cacahuate talk 23:22, 10 October 2008 (EDT)
Outcome: not promoted, user did not indicate acceptance, and doesn't seem to be watching version very closely – cacahuate talk 19:00, 27 November 2008 (EST)
So in the spirit of keeping this a community-driven site, and in taking care of as much as we can ourselves when possible, I propose that we have at least one community Bureaucrat on each language version that will handle all community Bureaucrat needs. Please show your support or lack thereof for each user below – cacahuate talk 23:22, 10 October 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Aude
The only admin we have there at the moment, who seems to be keeping an eye on the site. Also and admin on Wikipedia, and I think can be trusted with the tools – cacahuate talk 23:22, 10 October 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Wrh2 (Ryan) - Arabic
Nominated for: Bureaucrat (Arabic)
New election
Self-nominated
Motive: Arabic Wikitravel has consisted of nothing but spam for a least a couple of years now. While it would obviously be best to have an Arabic speaker overseeing that site, we at least need someone to go in an clean things up. If we have any active Arabic speakers then I will happily withdraw this nomination in favor of someone who can actually oversee the site properly.

I'm very happy to see Texugo's back—I was buckling under the extra task of keeping es spam free, and was actually considering asking IB to disable anon edits for the version. Nominated for:: Bureaucrat
New election
Self-nominated
Motive: I have been user on wikitravel dutch for three years and admin for almost two years. I worked together with Rein N. and 3wisemen on the geographical hierarchy, the special pages and made contributions to a lot of articles. I keep an eye on the spam together with Rein N and 3wisemen.--Canshun 14:11, 2 November 2008 (EST)
Support
Neutral Neutral for the following reasons: Canshun has been very active on the Dutch Wikitravel and his work is very much appreciated. On the other hand Canshun has (just like me) been on & off irregularly. Also Canshun has crossed borders where it comes to rules & regulations on blocking users, using Wikipedia material etc. Also he can come across a bit pushy & stubborn when discussing matters. I would really like Canshun to pledge that he'd be a little bit more lenient and open-minded towards other users and that he'd respect the rules and regulations before accepting a possible granted nomination. —The preceding comment was added by 3wisemen (talk • contribs) .
- Well, I'm going to stay out of this one, I think it's best if the users of the Dutch version decide who makes a good bureaucrat... but keep in mind, a bcrat has no more say in things than anyone else, their only duty is to promote administrators after they've gone through the nomination process successfully, and to perform username changes upon request. Their opinions don't hold any more weight than anyone else – cacahuate talk 16:11, 9 November 2008 (EST)
- You have to know from my point of view I don't go into competition with Rein for the nomation of Bureaucrat, I promote to have two or more Bureaucrats for the continuity, it can happen always that one Bureaucrat goes offline for a certain while. If I would cross a border there is the community to correct me and I don't think I did really awful things. I took a lot of initiative so it is quiet normal to get feedback of others. --Canshun 00:55, 21 November 2008 (EST)

[edit] User:Peterfitzgerald
We've made it a goal to have at least one "community bureaucrat" per language version, so that we can promote new admins without help from IB, and so that we can deal with a bot attack on versions suffering from admin inactivity. We got most of them taken care of here, but :fr, :he, :hu, :it, & :pl still lack any non-IB/Evan bureaucrat. I'm going to just go forward and nominate myself for all of them.
I think I meet the most important criterion of what is needed from a bureaucrat—I'm on Wikitravel very often (usually several times per day) and am very easy to reach. I'm also clearly here to stay for the long haul, so we won't have to go through this process again. I also have experience as a bureaucrat on :ru, and am very familiar with Wikitravel policies and practices across multiple language versions. I'd also make good use of the basic admin tools for dealing with concentrated bot attacks. I can read and understand on a basic level Italian, French, and Polish, but not Hebrew or Hungarian. Bots, anyway, almost always speak the same language... --Peter Talk 03:54, 24 July 2009 (EDT)
