[edit] picture problems
Hi there, I saw you're attempted tech request problem, sorry it was so difficult. But, hopefully I can answer your questions:
1. about moving pictures, I tried it too, and got the same error. I'm pretty sure what has happened is that moving pictures is disabled intentionally, since there might be many pages that link to that file across several language versions, and at this time we don't have a way of seeing what pages link to the file. The best thing to do, if you really need to change a file name, is to just upload the image again under the correct name, and put the bad name on the vfd page.
- OK I understand the reason. I'm not sure it is worth duplicating. I'll leave it as it is.
2. about cropping the image, when I look at the image page you linked to and then at the Greece article, the cropping looks the same. I think what probably happened is that the page was cached and you were looking at an older version of the image. You can try clicking on the "edit" tab, and then towards the bottom of the page you'll see a link to "purge cache for this page". That might help. Or just wait a few minutes.
- Right, it seemed to be a cache problem.
Anyway, hope that helps some. – cacahuate talk 03:40, 1 September 2007 (EDT)
- Thanks, you did help. Promeneur 04:28, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
