[edit] Image:Map of Central Asia.png

Hello Cacahuate!

Is this map advice for me about this? If so, I may leave my maps as they are. :-)

No, just coincidence that I uploaded it around the same time! I've been trying to use the PD template so that I don't have to insert credits to the makers of the symbols... but then I also like to have the WT logo on the maps, so I include that and then license it as ccbysa 1.0. I'm not sure if I should be crediting Mark for using the WT logo or not, but I haven't been. Hmm. – cacahuate talk 01:26, 9 August 2007 (EDT)
I like the logo too, but it's also our problem. So I'm thinking to remove it from my images... -- Tatata 06:18, 9 August 2007 (EDT)

One more thing, can I protect this[1] again? -- Tatata 21:52, 7 August 2007 (EDT)

I protected it again for 30 days to see if that helps... hopefully the user/bot will get bored. I'm not a big fan of protecting pages, especially without an expiry date (usually 1 week or 30 days is good)... I think usually unless it is really a lot of spam, like several times a day, we should just use the revert button... there's enough of us around to keep an eye on a page. That's how we do it on :En... but I know shared doesn't have as many people watching it as we do over there. Anyway, hopefully 30 days will work! If not, I think we should go back to reverting the spam when we see it – cacahuate talk 01:26, 9 August 2007 (EDT)
Thank you for protection. I'm understanding that we must serve this project as the lowest classes, but I think still; it is good for us to avoid a waste of time and human resources by coping with vandals/spams more flexibly. I hope it will go well! -- Tatata 06:18, 9 August 2007 (EDT)

Hello Cacahuate!

Now I'm trying to clean up {{dont know}} tagged images on shared: [2].

So could I ask you to put a license tag on your untagged images[3] and remove {{dont know}} tag from them? Thanks! -- Tatata 21:58, 20 August 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Licensing templates

Hello cacahuate.

I'm thinking to create a babel style licensing template for dual licensed images, because we need more flexible template for accuracy. And I'm waiting that 14 days pass since I've suggested it to Travellers' pub. Maybe I'll do it next week, so can you wait to do something about image pages with red link of Template:Dual-gfdl? I'll undo your edit after I finish to post this message, but I'll follow up them until I create it and remove comment/tag. Thanks. -- Tatata 04:49, 29 October 2007 (EDT)

No problem... however shouldn't the name of the new template be Template:dual-gfdl-cc-by-1.0, so that it matches the format of the existing licenses? – cacahuate talk 05:02, 29 October 2007 (EDT)
That's a good question. I think it's better to do that names of CC templates become parameter values of Template:Dual-gfdl rather than we create templates for each combination; e.g. tag {{dual-gfdl|cc-by-sa-2.1-jp|cc-by-sa-2.5}}[4] for this. I've already created a babel style template on ja: and currently it can accept 5 parameters at the maximum. In case of parameter is not specified, the template shows an error message instead of showing gfdl license. -- Tatata 05:51, 29 October 2007 (EDT)
Aaahhh, I see what you are saying... that is definitely much better then - the less templates the better! – cacahuate talk 06:05, 29 October 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Corporate interest

Hi C! I noticed your recently added tech request regarding the site slowdown. When I read it, I realised that it was a case of "Right, I have had it". So, I added this outcry to the pub. Feel free to leave your comment! Riggwelter 15:06, 16 February 2008 (EST)

[edit] Speed WAS the only cure

...so, welcome back! Riggwelter 05:28, 5 March 2008 (EST)

Thanks  :) – cacahuate talk 00:36, 12 March 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Kaz hacks

Do you have the original for Image:Map_of_Central_Asia.png somewhere? The "Kazhakstan" typo is kinda embarrasing. Jpatokal 12:32, 17 March 2008 (EDT)

Stupid H, I put that ***** in his place – cacahuate talk 19:35, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

[edit] Squish them bugs biotch!

Hey thanks! I'm planning to tackle the feature requests next. In the meantime, might I persuade you to weigh in here? --Peter Talk 13:16, 24 March 2008 (EDT)

Hi! Thanks for your feedback on image licensing discussions. However - where have these discussions taken place? Riggwelter 09:36, 17 May 2008 (EDT)
