Hello!

Welcome to Wikitravel Shared, our central coordination point and shared repository for images and other media for all language versions of Wikitravel! Before uploading please take a second to read over the copyleft, policies and guidelines, and the image policy. Feel free to upload travel images and add them to our articles on Wikitravel. If you need help, check out help desk, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub. --Tyen (talk) 11:17, 14 June 2013 (EDT)

Thanks for your choice.[edit]

Hello, thank you very much for your choice of my photo as the Picture of the Day! Aiko99ann (talk) 21:01, 03 Jan 2014 (JST)

You´re welcome! Thank you for contributing! Adzas (talk) 16:31, 6 January 2014 (EST)
Thank you again for your choice! I just added this enhanced picture, which is not a new one. Because I do not now how to remove the old version picture, there are same two files in the folder of "Algonquin Provincial Park".

Hello! I have received your email concerning suppression of file http://wikitravel.org/shared/File:Boryeong_mud_prison.jpg. My intent was just to translate, in french, page http://wikitravel.org/en/Boryeong, where all photos appear correctly. Alas! When coying in (french) wikitravel code, the following line: Image:Boryeongs2.jpg|thumb|200px|Mud Prison at Boryeong Mud Festival it is not displayed at all... This is the reason I copied the original file to another name, at it worked! Until you remove it... How can I do? Does it means that the english page should not display this photo, bacause there are people on it? But indeed it does display it... Cheers Pierre PierrotNC (talk) 17:53, 17 August 2014 (EDT)

Hello again :-) I understand now... This is not the first time I faced this situation, as it appears to be frequent in Wikitravel english pages. I should read more thouroughly the policy, but I'm no good at reading documentation :P I'll take care in the future :-) Of course, I already exchanged some mails with Pierre, sometimes to correct his french orthograph :-) Cheers Pierre PierrotNC (talk) 19:46, 17 August 2014 (EDT)

Thank you[edit]

for the image information. It was the lack of clarity in the guidelines that prompted the question.

Hi, sorry for any confusion, I've now correctly attributed the photo to its original source at Wikimedia. Thanks, --~ BTD (talk)

Hi,

Thanks for adding the new banner. Can you add a description stating that the original image was changed. Additionally, we cannot apply the Generic Creative Commons license. Since the original license disallows it. You can view the license details of the original here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/ —The preceding comment was added by Stevetauber (talkcontribs)

Hello, thanks for your comment, apologies for the delay but we are looking into this at the moment. The original license is the same one as is uploaded to Wikitravel, so not sure why you say we cannot apply the license? Adzas (talk) 12:08, 15 April 2015 (EDT)
Hi, please see here User_talk:GiulioC#File:Zagreb_new_Banner.jpg Stevetauber (talk) 14:19, 16 April 2015 (EDT)
Hi, I have checked all your feedback and discussed it with other admin, but the picture is uploaded with the same license as on Flickr so as far as we can see there are no changes required. As the picture was only resized we are still checking if that is seen as a change, as this can be interpreted in different ways. We will then act accordingly. Adzas (talk) 09:51, 17 April 2015 (EDT)
