Template talk:License review

How about to use signatures, three tildes for username and five tildes for date, like this?

{{License review|~~~|~~~~~}}

Agreed, that would make for a really easy copy & paste. The name field will need to be altered though—this is what I get with three tildes:

Hmm; I see the point about copy+paste, but I somewhat prefer using usernames rather than signatures to identify the reviewing user (and I'm not sure the full time is necessary). I see advantages to both. LtPowers 19:47, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
We can use {{#time:Y-m-d|~~~~~}}[1] to format the time provided by signature (~~~~~). I created a modified version[2] of the template and a result is here[3]. -- Tatata 00:25, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
Seems like an improvement. LtPowers 13:40, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
Me too. Why don't we paste your version into this one, and start using it? --Peter Talk 16:06, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
I updated this template. If "#time:Y-m-d" (2009-04-07) doesn't fit for the sentence in English, please change to "#time:j F Y" (7 April 2009), "#time:d M Y" (07 Apr 2009) or something else. Codes of format string are here[4]. -- Tatata 21:45, 23 October 2009 (EDT)

[edit] Usage

Now that it's working great, we should nail down how we'll use it. Under the guiding principle of assuming good faith, I'd like to state that images uploaded by users who have clearly demonstrated that they understand how the CC licenses work should be presumed innocent, even if the flickr page now shows something other than what they documented in the WTS upload. (In my experience, flickr users change their photo licensing display quite frequently.) Therefore the template should only be added to image pages when you find positive confirmation, and when the license display on flickr has been changed to "all rights reserved," just leave the image page as is. --Peter Talk 04:42, 24 October 2009 (EDT)
