Tech talk:Enable Recent Changes Patrol
From Wikitravel Shared
This would be absolutely fantastic. I've wanted this for a while. (Guess I should have spoken up.) -- Jonboy 10:37, 14 December 2006 (EST)
It sounds really good. I'm curious to see how it works and if the outcomes are worth it. Maybe you (en: admins) could drop a quick note around here after a few weeks of testing to let us know if it works out all right and maybe we could think about using it on other language versions too. - You should also be able to see it in use on en:, yourself. I'm happy to enable it on any language version where the admins want it, but I don't want to force it on any language version that doesn't. At some point, we might just turn it on by default for all language versions, if it seems useful for everyone. --Evan 13:18, 26 December 2006 (EST)
[edit] Shared
Evan, I think this feature should be enabled as soon as possible for Shared too. I guess many of us don't know who all the administrators of other language versions are and how often they're checking the uploads and edits around here. Since vandalism and spam are not frequent here, admins should probably patrol blatant copyvios and missing location tags. -- Ricardo (Rmx) 21:59, 25 December 2006 (EST)
- Good idea. And it's on now. --Evan 13:18, 26 December 2006 (EST)
[edit] Admin edits patrolled by default
Would it be possible to get edits by administrators to be automatically marked as patrolled? Since admins can patrol their own edits anyway, I guess it saves us some extra clicks. Thanks. -- Ricardo (Rmx) 20:08, 16 January 2007 (EST)
[edit] Edits by Admins
Edits by admins aren't marked as patrolled automatically on shared. Evan? — Ravikiran r 13:04, 5 February 2007 (EST)
- I think you have to update your preferences, but this should probably be on by default. -- Jonboy 13:40, 5 February 2007 (EST)
- Aah thanks. I too don't see the point of it being a preference. — Ravikiran r 04:09, 6 February 2007 (EST)
