Tech:Typo in automatic redirection to Japanese

From Wikitravel Shared
Jump to: navigation, search

What happens[edit]

If you browse to using a browser that's set to default to Japanese, it goes to繝。繧、繝ウ繝壹・繧ク, where the Japanese bit is severely corrupted. This means anybody arriving from (eg.) a Japanese Google search for "wikitravel" is greeted with a blank page.

When it happens[edit]

What should happen[edit]

How to fix it[edit]

Set the link to point to the correct ja:メインページ. Or, if that's too hard, just make it point to Jpatokal 11:24, 6 April 2007 (EDT)

It now points directly to (with the escapes). I just tested it by setting my language preference to ja: in Firefox, and it seems to have worked. Let me know if there's any more problems. --Evan 11:48, 6 April 2007 (EDT)
