Tech:HasDocent template - translation, etc
From Wikitravel Shared
[edit] What happens
- The hasDocent template on sv: works fine regarding Montreal, but not for Tokyo, i.e. there is no "destination docents" frame showing up in the left hand side of the page. I just tested it again, and it seems like if the user has a space in his/her user name (f.e. Jonas Ryberg who happens to be our docent for Tokyo), the template does not work as intended. If there isn't a space in the user name, it works.
- What's more, there are no items in "Special:Allmessages" which may be translated from "destination docents" into swedish. Currently, the same frame (in the guide to Montreal) also says "Om Experter". This also needs to be converted, since we do not call them "Experter", but "Guider" and today has a redirect from "Wikitravel:Experter" to "Wikitravel:Guider" whereas I would like to have a direct link. Where may these translations be done if not in "Special:Allmessages"?

[edit] When it happens
Constantly.
[edit] What should happen
Translation and url fix.
[edit] How to fix it
Yes...?
- First, use an underscore for the user name instead of a space. See sv:Tokyo for an example. This is how breadcrumb navigation works, too.
- Second, the translation items for the docents feature are sv:MediaWiki:docents, sv:MediaWiki:aboutdocentlink, and sv:MediaWiki:aboutdocentpage. --Evan 11:23, 27 September 2006 (EDT)
- I do not know if it is me or what it is....but if I look through the page, there are no MediaWiki items as the ones you describe. If I use the search feature, I do not find them. If I right-click on your links above and open them in a new window, I come to the page in question, but the s/w asks me to log in (again!) and when I do, there is no link. If I left-click on the given links above, the only link that works and which takes me to something to edit is the sv:MediaWiki:aboutdocentpage. If I search the Special:Allmessages for the phrase "Destination Docents", it does not return anything. I am very, very confused... Riggwelter 16:42, 28 September 2006 (EDT)
- This does still not work - and it is quite annoying! Riggwelter 13:17, 5 January 2007 (EST)
- Update: does still not work. What's more, the docent frame in the left column is not there at all anymore. Riggwelter 15:52, 22 January 2007 (EST)
