This image is displaying the error "Error creating thumbnail: Invalid thumbnail parameters" when thumbnailed. The image itself seems fine.

Is it because this is PNG...? Or on the main site, not Shared?

Has this only happened with large pngs—around 5MB+? I'm pretty sure that there is a limit to just how large a png file can be before its thumbnails fail (true on Commons, at least). --Peter

Reducing the file size didn't help, in my case — it was only when the pixels were reduced well below 5000 length-wise that the error went away. Gorilla Jones 08:13, 29 June 2009 (EDT)

I reduced from 4365×4365, 2.3 MB to 3636×3638, 1.63 MB without result. Further reduction to 2909 × 2910 pixel, file size: 1.2 MB and the error went away. This was never anywhere near 6 Mpixels, not even 5. Nor more than 5000 lengthwise. Pbsouthwood 02:55, 14 July 2010 (EDT)

I have had problems with PNGs of similar size, also resolved by reducing size. I don't have a clue why this is happening. (I do seem to recall that we discussed this problem elsewhere in detail, but I cannot find it.) --Peter ^Talk 20:51, 14 July 2010 (EDT)
