Tech:En blacklist not working
From Wikitravel Shared
[edit] What happens
ifrance\.com is on the en blacklist but isn't blocking spambots from using URLs containing that term
[edit] When it happens
Frequently and repeatedly over the last few weeks - example
And again 01:10, 7 October 2007 - approx 110 occurrences of ifrance.com in this edit Sorry, ignore that - the spambot edit in question was to the local spam blacklist page, and while it didn't overwrite it, I guess it may be the reason the blacklist didn't block the edit. ~ 202.79.25.170 09:42, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
[edit] What should happen
[edit] How to fix it
- Looking into it, thanks. -- Ibkevin 12:09, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- It's been a known problem for a while already - see edit summary & en:Wikitravel_talk:Local_spam_blacklist#ifrance\.com. Several times I've gone to the graffiti wall and my edit was (correctly) blocked, yet each time the spambot had not been blocked just a few minutes earlier. ~ 61.7.175.20 14:53, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- Is this still happening? Thanks.JuCo 15:16, 21 March 2008 (EDT)
- Yes, randomly. This edit definitely should have been blocked by both the 5th & 6th regular expressions on the en:Wikitravel:Local spam blacklist. Both patterns were working earlier, and now again work when I test the same text as in the edit above. I've no idea why this is happening—it's as if the blacklist just intermittently lapses. --Peter Talk 02:35, 29 March 2008 (EDT)
