Tech:Different skin for Shared
From Wikitravel Shared
Increasing numbers of confused people are trying to post guide-type stuff into Wikitravel Shared. We need a skin (or at least a logo) that is different to serve as a clue-by-four that /shared != /en. Jpatokal 05:27, 29 September 2006 (EDT)
- Is there any reason why we only have one skin available across all versions of Wikitravel. To keep people from confusing shared and en is a major reason to enable different skins. Another is that contributors from Wikipedia may well be used to a different skin. Contributors on :ru are asking about this now, and I have no answer to give them. Why does this sort of request go unanswered? Is this a difficult request to fulfill? --Peter Talk 14:37, 11 October 2008 (EDT)
- Though I'm not an expert, it doesn't seem to me to be a difficult request. This will probably work by putting Image:Headbg-pink.jpg to "files.wikitravel.org/mw/skins/monobook/" directory and rewriting "main.css". I've made a pink version below for example. Maybe, some tweaks of background-color are needed to match the background image. -- Tatata 00:27, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
- Shared has been pink for the past week. How's it look? Thank you for the image+style, guys! Khoerling 13:17, 21 October 2008 (EDT)
- Thank you Khoerling. Pink is fine for me. -- Tatata 10:02, 22 October 2008 (EDT)
