I was researching hotels in Tbilisi and checking rates to get an idea of what a room costs. Unfortunately, by default the currency is either displayed in €uros or U$ Dollars. I don't care much for keeping track of the Dollar - Euro conversion rates any more, because when I did I was losing about $400 for every $1,000 I spent.
Since I work on both EN and DE I need a quick way to get an instant and accurate conversion of Euros and dollars. Marriott's website has a nice currency calculator, but I'd really appreciate it if we could develop a similar feature and put it in the toolbox. I would use it for a lot of research, but it would also be very helpful for people that simply use Wikitravel and don't contribute. Policy dictates that the local unit of measurement be used when citing prices, or temperatures, or other measurements. Unfortunately, I, like billions of others, don't know the conversion rate between US $ and the Argentinean peso and being able to access a currency calculator in Wikitravel, rather than having to visit a third site would be extremely helpful when I'm planning my trip to Buenos Aires. -- Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 18:44, 19 January 2007 (EST)
