Tech:After section edit complete, moves to wrong section

From Wikitravel Shared

Jump to: navigation, search

[edit] What happens

After a section edit is saved, the user is returned to the HTML target for the first occurrence of that section name, rather than the actual occurrence (second or third) that was edited. This occurs where section targets are named #Section_heading #Section_heading_2 etc.

[edit] When it happens

Using the "edit via [edit]" link option for a section. When editing a section with a name that is used more than once. This will really only be a problem with subsections, since main section headings are never repeated. See By train sub-sections under Get in and Get around in the Montreal article for an example.

[edit] What should happen

The use should be returned to the modified page, in the section that was actually edited.

[edit] How to fix it

[edit] Severity

Minor.
