Tech:A search function for some specific kind of destination

A newcomer on the Finnish version asked me if it would be possible to do some kind of search function that could recommend some destinations for the used based on for instance checkboxes. For instance the user could tell the search function (using checkboxes) whether he wants to go to a big or small city or a beach resort, somewhere it's worth going in the summer or in the winter, somewhere where there are a lots of discos and pubs or someplace to relax etc. and perhaps also where in the world these destinations should be situated. Perhaps this feature wouldn't be that useful for experienced travelers but I think it could be really useful for those who haven't been on so many trips. I don't exactly know how such a browser could be built, so I'm asking you. ;)
