  • en:Herring, one of the signature dishes in Amsterdam, where the herring is served cut in pieces. In the rest of The Netherlands the halves are served uncut and connected at the tale. Traditional one takes the fish by the tale, one's head is thrown in the neck and the fish in lowered into the mouth from above and than one has a bite.
