Hello Wikitravel Community!
My name is Todd Michael Heater. I have been a long time user and editor of Wikitravel and Wikipedia.
I´m an American for Vancouver, WA although currently I am a resident of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
I have been Working as the Asesor de Online Marketing for the Official Tourism Office of the Canary Islands for the last three years. During that time it´s been my job to improve the presence of the Canary Islands Official Tourist Information on the web. We have developed and implemmented a new website in eight languages and we have added MANY new and innovative resources such as our Zone 2.0 (which helps users find relative user generated content about topics of Canary Islands tourism), Google Mapping of all Beaches, Golf Courses, current events for all islands, and tons of videos, facts and images specific to Canary Island tourism.
ATTENTION EDITORS: I understand quite well the guidelines of both wikitravel and wikipedia in many of the language versions as they pertain to external links. All external links from Wikitravel Articles to the Official Tourism Website www.Turismodecanarias.com that I make adhere to these quidelines. AGAIN our website is the ONLY WEBSITE sunctioned by and directly controled by the Vice Consejero de Turismo del gobierno de las Islas Canarias. The Canary Islands´ government spends 100,000 of Euros annual to insure current and accurate tourist information of it´s users. The website does NOT sell anything, it only supports tour operators and travel suppliers by sending users to third party website for travel products or more information with over 3000 external links. The website is designed to be an essential resource for Canary Islands tourists and much of it´s content such as current events and Zone 2.0 postings for all islands can ONLY be found at this website, i.e. it is both OFICIAL and a UNIQUIE resource for tourism content for the Canary Islands as a whole and each of it´s seven main islands: El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
Your support is appreciated: if for some reason you find that one of my links or content is not suitable for an article, please explain to me why you removed it.
