Wikitravel talk:Microformats

From Wikitravel

Jump to: navigation, search

I'd like to keep this page focused on Wikitravel's support of uf's: what we already support or will support soon. If there are suggestions for new implementations, they should either go on the appropriate talk pages or on shared:technical requests. I think that descriptions of particular uf's should be left up to http://microformats.org/ -- this isn't the place for it. --Evan 17:57, 25 November 2006 (EST)

See my recent comment on your talk page. The descriptions are limited to only what's needed to set context - and answer the questions which you yourself raised. Andy Mabbett 18:01, 25 November 2006 (EST)

[edit] Suggestions and ideas

I've moved the following suggestions and ideas from the project page to this discussion page. --Evan 18:03, 25 November 2006 (EST)

  • You've also - again - wiped my text about Geo. Andy Mabbett 18:11, 25 November 2006 (EST)

[edit] hReview

hReview could be used to mark up opinions of, say, restaurants or pubs. —The preceding comment was added by Pigsonthewing (talkcontribs) .

Actually, we don't have opinionated reviews on Wikitravel. We strive for objective, consensus content. So this probably won't happen. --Evan 18:04, 25 November 2006 (EST)
Fair enough, but that's not how pages I've read come across. Andy Mabbett 18:07, 25 November 2006 (EST)

[edit] hAtom

hAtom is used for marking up "feeds". Andy Mabbett

[edit] Wikipedia and rel-tag

Wikipedia is a "name space" for rel-tag microformat. Any link to an article's corresponding Wikipedia article (leastways, those without punctuation in the final part) can safely be marked-up with a rel="tag" attribute. Andy Mabbett 16:51, 26 November 2006 (EST)

[edit] Microformats

Archived from the Pub:

What's the best place to propose and discuss the use of hCard and Geo microformats in Wikitravel? Pigsonthewing 07:39, 25 November 2006 (EST)

Have a look at Wikitravel:RDF and Wikitravel:RDF Expedition. -- Ryan 13:21, 25 November 2006 (EST)
Thanks. I've also caught up with Evan's work on microformats. I hope that Wikitravel:Microformats, which I've just created, will be useful. Andy Mabbett 16:02, 25 November 2006 (EST)
