Degas House in New Orleans, Louisiana, is located 11 blocks from the French Quarter in an area called Esplanade Ridge. It is the ONLY home or studio in the world where the French Impressionist Master painted that is open to the public.

Degas House welcomes you to tour the house with a tour guide who is a direct descendant of the painter. The tour begins with the viewing of the award winning documentary "Degas in New Orleans, A Creole Sojourn" and ends with a visit to our gift shop.

Additionally, the Degas House welcomes visitors to experience New Orleans from the same vantage point as the artist himself, by staying overnight in Bed and Breakfast rooms and suites, some of which have private balconies and Jacuzzi tubs, all have private baths and amenities such as offstreet parking and Creole Breakfast and assorted fruit and snacks throughout the home.

Degas House also serves the public as a Wedding and Special Events Venue. Utilizing the formal Parlors, the Gallery and the expansive Courtyard, Degas House provides an historic setting for a memorable and unique Wedding Reception, Rehearsal Dinner or Corporate Function. Degas House also serves as home to the Edgar Degas Foundation, a 501C3 Organization whose educational mission is to restore the home and preserve the legacy of Degas for New Orleans and the World. Because Degas House is located on a ridge, Hurricane Katrina and the resulting flooding did not damage the home badly, and we remain open for business.
