Viewed by itself, improving Wikitravel coverage of a U.S. state is a daunting task. This difficulty is exemplified by the fact that Wikitravel currently has only one single region article of guide level status! This Expedition exists to to clarify exactly what needs to be done in pursuit of our goals for Maryland and related articles, identify avenues for potential collaboration, and generate enthusiasm towards achieving our goal.
The main goal of the Maryland Expedition was to achieve Guide status for the Maryland state article. And indeed, after a whole lot of hard work, we reached our goal, making Maryland the first guide-level state in the U.S.!
So what's next? Having reached guide status, Maryland is technically ready for a Destination of the Month nomination, but it would be nice to polish up some of the most important linked destinations—most importantly to get Baltimore and Annapolis up to guide status—before featuring the state on Wikitravel's main page. So here are a list of tasks:

While we are currently merely looking to have a successful and impressive Destination of the Month feature, it's worth keeping in mind that all the destinations below must be at guide status for Maryland itself to become the first star state, and only the second star region on the site!
