The Maryland Expedition is a Wikitravel Expedition to promote and coordinate collaboration to improve Wikitravel's articles pertaining to the US state of Maryland. If you'd like to join the effort, please add your signature to the bottom of the page!

Viewed by itself, improving Wikitravel coverage of an US state is a daunting task. This difficulty is exemplified by the fact that Wikitravel currently has only one single region article of guide level status! This Expedition exists to to clarify exactly what needs to be done in pursuit of our goals for Maryland and related articles, identify avenues for potential collaboration, and generate enthusiasm towards achieving our goal.

The main goal of the Maryland Expedition is to achieve Guide status for the Maryland state article. In pursuit of this goal, we must:

1. Improve the quality of the Maryland article itself, by overhauling the understand, get in, get around, and see sections
2. Improve all linked destinations to at least usable status

Featured collaboration: Southern Maryland

That article is close to fulfilling the "usable" status requirements. It would be nice to polish it up at least a little, in addition to fulfilling those last requirements:

• Prince Frederick needs to be usable—it needs a get in section, info on main sights, and at least a couple sleep listings.
• La Plata (Maryland) needs rudimentary see, eat, & sleep info.
• Chesapeake Beach needs rudimentary get in, see, & eat info. It might make sense to merge it with North Beach (see discussion)
• The main region article is already in very good shape, but the see section should be converted from listings to overview prose. The "listings" may need to be moved to the appropriate city articles.
