Waterbury is a city in Connecticut.

Waterbury is conveniently located at the junction of I-84 and CT Route 8. It is roughly located in Central Western Connecticut. The nearest Connecticut cities are Hartford to the east and Danbury to the west, both of which are also located on I-84.

Waterbury has a fairly extensive bus system. You can catch a bus off the Waterbury Green or from many other places in town. There are also cabs, but their reliability has been questioned by some, so make sure you understand their rates before getting into a taxi.

Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center, [1]144 West Main St. Waterbury, CT 06702 (203-753-0381) The Waterbury area's 300 plus year history is chronicled here and the main gallery is devoted to exhibiting the works of Connecticut artists. The museum occupies the former Masonic Temple building on Waterbury's historic green.

Palace Theater,[2] 100 East Main St. Waterbury CT (203-755-4700) The area's premier performance venue, the recently renovated Palace Theater was first opened in 1922 and boasts ornate domed ceilings and grand lobbies. Taking in this magnificent building is as much fun as the performance itself.

  • Frankie's Hot Dogs, 700 Watertown Ave, 203-753-2426, [4]. One of the most famous restaurants in Waterbury, Frankie's is the most famous Hot Dog joint in town.  edit
  • Drescher's, 25 Leavenworth Street, 203-573-1743, [5]. Drescher's is one of Waterbury's oldest and most famous restaurants. It is a dark, burnished, and classy place with a lot of history. Good for dinner before a show at the Palace Theater.  edit
  • City Hall, 234 East Main Street, 203-754-8866, [6]. City Hall is one of the more well-regarded restaurants in downtown Waterbury. Classy atmosphere and good food. Also a good choice for before or after a show at the Palace Theater.  edit

  • Ború's Bar, 357 W Main Street, (203) 596-0946, [7]. 12-2. Ború's Bar is one of the better Irish Bars in Waterbury. Young, inclusive atmosphere, quality beers and other drinks. Good burgers and steaks. Nice bartenders and folks in general are pleasant.  edit
  • The Local Public House, 457 W Main Street, Waterbury, CT, (203) 573-9355. The Local Public House is another excellent Irish Bar in Waterbury. They pride themselves on a fine Guinness and they also have the local Hooker Irish Red on tap. A very laid back atmosphere, older crowd of really great folks.  edit
