Waizenhofen is a village in Franconia.
Waizenhofen is a small village with around 100 inhabitants, located in, Middle Franconia (Mittelfranken), Bavaria (Bayern), Germany.
German is the only language spoken here, however there are some people living there who have a good knowledge of other foreign languages like English, French, Spanish or Italian.
Most people arrive in the area by road.
Thalmässing-Waizenhofen Airfield (IATA: unlisted) is a small airfield serving the community of Thalmässing and Waizenhofen and is about 45 km south of Nuremberg. Currently the airfield is used for General Aviation purposes, primarily by private pilots in ultralight aircraft and helicopters. The new ICE line runs from Nuremberg to Munich and provides a rail service to the stations of Ingolstadt and Nuremberg. A bus service is provided to the region . The former railway line Greding-Thalmässing-Rothwas closed in 1974 and replaced by a bus service. The former rail bed was converted into a cycle path. See the Thalmässing article for details.
Starting from Thalmässing, buses are available. Apart from that, a walk for 20 min is enought to arrive there.

Turn west off the E45 at Großhöbing.
The village is easily managable on foot, since it takes only about 5 min from one end to the other.
To visit is the airstrip close to Waizenhofen, the old church, different houses, farms and fields. Also the "Espan" is worth a visit.
There is no store in Waizenhofen, however it is possible to buy products like milk, eggs or honey at different family-owned farms.
