Please read Wikitravel:How to handle unwanted edits to understand what is vandalism to Wikitravel.

Please report vandalism at the top of the "Current alerts" list below. Please only use this page for repeated malicious vandalism, not for one-off edits, or newbie tests (which you can simply revert by yourself). Except in cases of vandalbot or other rapid-fire attacks, please warn users and wait for further vandalism before listing them here. Do not list non-vandalism. Please list the IP address or user name (use the format [[Special:Contributions/Username|Username]] or [[Special:Contributions/IP Address|IP Address]] as the header), pages touched and damage done. Sign your name using ~~~~ after your report. Put the person's IP or username in the edit summary.

Current alerts[edit]

94.101.164.1[edit]

Repeated vandalism in progress on the already patchy Basildon page. Thanks also to Nrms for reverting some, but more help is appreciated as the existing material is hardly useful. Will help to clean it up, but local knowledge need. Thanks y'all. Jamesbrownontheroad 05:42, 30 January 2009 (EST)

Possible new attack[edit]

I see another attack brewing out on the horizon, the usual pattern of the vandal's randomly generated user names, have seen a lot of new users created in the past days - should we take pre-emptive action, and block them as they are created, or is the price of risking to block innocent users to much?

Those are spammers with 99.99% probability. Block at will, I say. Jpatokal 06:15, 17 August 2009 (EDT)
I'm with Jani. Having had trouble with ten-letter autospambots on other wikis, pre-emption is the only way to go with them. -- Bill-on-the-Hill 09:54, 17 August 2009 (EDT)
Agreed. They've been popping up across language versions starting yesterday. --Peter Talk 16:10, 17 August 2009 (EDT)

Massive bot account creation[edit]

Regarding the current flood of bot-created spam accounts, I have started a new Google Wave, so we can discuss a few concerns relevant for admins, but too sensitive to discuss online (wouldn't want to give the spammers any tips!). So please check your Wave accounts, or respond to the few emails I sent out with invites. --Peter Talk 08:59, 8 July 2010 (EDT)
