Villa Gesell is a nice beach city in the Buenos Aires province of Argentina. Once the "Argentinian hippie" Mecca, now a familiar and noisy youth place, nevertheless it keeps some charm.

There´s a choral festival in January, which takes place in the Pinar, the pine woods.

- You can eat at Carlitos, the wonderful king of the Pancakes (be sure to go to the "Real Carlitos", which is called "El Amanecer de Carlitos y sus hijos"; a legal fight ended with the original Carlitos losing his original name). An awesom variety of pancakes, from honey and white cheese to salted pancakes, like the rochefort and avocado pancake.
- You also can eat at the Pasteleria Holandesa, a charming old Dutch restaurant lost in the sand streets, where you can take a hearty breakfast which includes fruit alad and a fried egg.

- Residencial Viya, Avenida 5 number 582, (02255) 462757. A very nice and quite cheap place, near the beach and the downtown. The owners are very friendly and kind.
