Vänersborg is a city in the Västra Götaland count and the historic province of Västergötland. It is located at the lake Vänern, the largest lake in Europe outside Russia. It has 35,000 inhabitants.

The Trollhättan-Vänersborg airport is located 10 km south of the city and has daily flights to Stockholm. The Göteborg-Landvetter airport is located 100 km south of Vänersborg and has flights to major european cities.
