Valença is a town in Bahia, northeastern Brazil. It is mostly visited by tourists who take the boat to go to Morro de Sao Paulo. If you happen to hit the town on a Saturday night, you might as well stay for some genuine Brazilian partying, as the days are mostly all the same out on the island.
A good way to get around is with motorbike taxi, the drivers wear yellow shirts saying Moto Taxi and can be found throughout the city. They will take you anywhere within the town for R$ 5 while taxi cars generally start at R$ 10.
There is no shortage of bars in Valença, almost every street has them.
A good spot is Plaça Republica, there you will find several small bars and vendors or you can cross the bridge for an array of bars along the riverside.
