Thank you very much for dealing with the vandalism on the main page. Taking away his account would do nothing to alter his behavior -- keep in mind that even anonymous users can still edit. Frankly, his behavior is mostly counterproductive even for himself: it takes admins (who have special buttons for coping with his kind of behavior) a few seconds to fix stuff that takes him minutes to create. I find it easier to cope with him by trying to take a postivie attitude: his behavior is futile; he builds a sense of teamwork among the users who care more that things are good than he cares about making them bad; he trains admins who will later have better skills for dealing with real problems; occasionally he is funny, though it's rare his humor is intentional; when frustrated, I keep in mind I can walk away at any time for as little or long as a like and someone else will fix the problem.

So thanks very much for working on it, and try not to let it get under your skin (that is his goal, after all, and you wouldn't want to please him, would you? :-). -- Colin 20:36, 22 Aug 2005 (EDT)
