[edit] Xi'an

I've got no opinion on the Xi'an vs. Xian debate, but I've reverted the removal of the Xi'an redirect for now. Whatever the final decision about article naming is, one name needs to redirect to the other, and since the current article is at Xian then Xi'an needs to redirect to it. -- Ryan • (talk) • 02:23, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

The only opinion I have on the Xi'an vs. Xian debate is that I currently support it staying at Xian unless someone can prove to me that Xi'an is in more common English usage and convince everyone else that is the case too. PS: Anyone can move an article but we need consensus if there is a disagreement. -- Huttite 05:41, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

do, sleep, eat and the rest do have a special tag for alternate names, called "alt". Example:

* <see name="Beijing" alt="北京">A city.</see>

  • Beijing (北京). A city.  edit

Hey there Roger! I feel like maybe we should hold off just a little bit longer before creating more shortcuts, to make sure nobody objects and to clearly define what it is we're about to do...
