Hello Ptudor! Welcome to Wikitravel.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.
If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
- be bold → plunge forward
- Village pump → travellers' pub
- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
- sandbox → graffiti wall
- stub notes → Article status notes
If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. Thanks for contributing!
You article about The Dead Cities doesn't quite follow our guidelines about articles starting with "The". I would consider moving it to Dead Cities. Please discuss this at Talk:The Dead Cities.
When you create an article, please include all the article boilerplate text, as this gives all the Section headers to list attractions as well as the outline status indicator.
You might also be interested in how our Wikitravel:Listings feature can be used when you list attractions, tourism related businesses and their websites, so that you can comply with our external links policy. - Huttite 05:11, 26 January 2009 (EST)
