What not to link to[edit]

Hi. Undoubtedly, portals can provide useful information. However, the idea here is that each Wikitravel guide has (or should have) sufficient information for a traveler to use it by itself to plan a visit. So, therefore, information portals of all kinds cannot be linked to or listed in Wikitravel articles. Please read Wikitravel:External links#What not to link to. Also, never list the same thing in more than one guide; that's called "spamming" here, and it is also forbidden. Of course, since portals have no physical address, they aren't actually _in_ any specific area as such, which is another problem, because all listings have to have a physical address.

I hope all of this doesn't make your head spin too much, and that you'll contribute in other ways, as I'm sure you have a lot of local knowledge to share.

All the best,

Spamming[edit]

In case you read your user file:

Posting the same message to numerous articles is considered spamming here and not appreciated. All your edits are being reverted. Please do not reinstate them. Thanks.
