Welcome[edit]

Hello! Welcome to Wikitravel. Thank you for your your valuable contributions on Brisbane page! Please keep it up! To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. Warm regards, -- IBAlex (talk) 14:20, 10 April 2013 (EDT)

A great big thank you from me as well, great work with the Brisbane page! --OVK (talk) 12:56, 13 April 2013 (EDT)

Cologne[edit]

Nice additions, but I'd be grateful if you could find the time to look at tdf and $.

Here on the English language version of Wikitravel, the (euro) symbol is placed before the amount rather than afterwards (as is normal in Germany), Miss Graham. Tschüß! --W. Franke-mailtalk 08:31, 10 May 2013 (EDT)

It's usual to reply to comments made on this your user talk page, Miss Graham.
I really would appreciate it if you would take a look at our MoS paying particular attention to tdf and $ and xl and Abbrev so I don't have to copyedit your contributions. --W. Franke-mailtalk 06:10, 11 May 2013 (EDT)
Hi, sorry for not replying earlier, this is all still a bit complicated for me and I need to learn how to do this. I am trying to follow the rules and am sorry if I am doing something wrong, but then it says all over wikitravel that you should just start and contribute - I never saw those pages you pointed out to me before. So far, I always wrote times, dates etc. as I saw them on other pages, so clearly they were wrong on those pages, too, and nobody copyedited them. I will read through your links and try to follow them, and will try to do things as they are "usual" here - please understand that as a newbie, it's not easy to understand all at once how everything works. MissGraham (talk)
No worries! It's because you're adding such a lot of great new material that I think it worthwhile trying to get you up to speed with our MoS - if it was just the odd contribution it wouldn't be worth my while having a dialogue. Because it's a wiki, there is probably much more stuff that is non-compliant with our {{MoS]] than the other way round. Some is pretty esoteric, but if you have a good read of tdf and $ and xl and Abbrev and units that will probably cover well more than half the errors you're likely to make. Given a choice between having non-MoS compliant additions and no additions at all, we much prefer the former - hence the pf advice!
However, we currently have very few long term editors left here and being a lazy bugger, it would be great if you could help out - especially on our Australian and German articles. Keep warm! --W. Franke-mailtalk 06:36, 11 May 2013 (EDT)
Ok, I see! :-) Thank you for pointing me into the right direction. I will read through it all and do the best I can! I really enjoy wikitravel and hope to add much more in the future! MissGraham (talk) 07:28, 11 May 2013 (EDT)
Terrific! --W. Franke-mailtalk 07:34, 11 May 2013 (EDT)
